Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
Educating the whole man includes teaching a true understanding of the importance of service and actually participating in the service of others in need.
The second Kairos Retreat of the year, 86.47, returned Friday afternoon from the Leibenzel Retreat Center in Long Valley following three days of prayer and reflection. They were led on their spiritual journey by Retreat Programs Director Billy Ward and Campus Ministry Director Sharon Rondinella. Supporting the 50 retreatants in their efforts were Prep school counselor Mark Vitale ‘10, teachers Larry Kupferman, Rev. John Brandi ‘72, Mary Sorgi and Gisella Schanil, along with Prep Chaplains Frs. James White and Bogumil Misiuk ’08. Introducing the student discussions and leading the break-out sessions were Senior Leaders Anthony Bottino, Liam Cavanaugh, Michael DeStefano, Christian Hui, Gaetano Maiorano, Louis Scafidi, Oliver Sweeney and Avelino Viera. Kairos returned to center stage in the building of the Prep Experience in late October following a 20 month hiatus due to Covid-19 protocols. The renewed enthusiasm for participation in the retreat accounts for the expansion of the program to provide a total of five retreats this school year.
