  • About

Founded in 1856, Seton Hall Prep has a long, rich history. The profound impact the school, its faculty and alumni have had on the world is immeasurable. However, you can see it wherever you look. Whether it is in the world of business, medicine, theater, music or science to name a few, you will find a connection to Seton Hall Prep. During a conversation in March 2024, in Burbank California, the idea for The Prep Legends Series was born. It is the hope that by recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of past graduates, faculty, staff and friends, present and future members of the school and its community will strive to higher achievements like the honorees bestowed The Prep Legend’s title.

The inaugural presentation happened on September 27, 2025, with the festive celebration on Joe Neglia H’01. Though he was not an alumnus, he had been so devoted to the school and was a lifetime advocate for the performing arts.

It is with special thanks and accolades to Peter Basler ’91, Kenneth Waddell ’85 and Kevin Michael Smith ’78 that The Prep Legends Series was converted from an idea to reality.
  • Mission

Established in 2024, The Prep Legends Series was created to honor alumni, faculty, and friends of Seton Hall Prep who embody the virtues of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton who, like our honorees, was a selfless spirit. The Prep Legends Series celebrates the significant impact honorees have made in the areas of academic excellence, service and leadership in the school or community, and outstanding professional or personal achievements. Their accomplishments are exemplary and tangibly demonstrate the core values that define Seton Hall Prep.
